In this body of work, I present narrative fragments of my ‘people’ sculptures in the form of annotated Polaroid style photographs. By placing the character objects within simple narrative contexts, they come to life. The Polaroid-style photo is accompanied by a tag line. It is clear from these photos that the ‘people’ being referenced are objects, and each scenario is disjointed and absurd. But the format is not unlike how we construct our online personas: with a low-resolution photo accompanied by a glamorous quip. The Polaroid format references nostalgia – I love nostalgia; we all love nostalgia; this is a world in which copies of Polaroid photos abound, but I can’t even remember what an actual Polaroid feels like.
